Licensed Maintenance Electrician Full-time, Monday through Friday
Summary The Electrician will work within the maintenance department to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and machinery in a manufacturing facility focused on packaging. This role supports production by ensuring that all packaging and related equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Safety
Adhere to safety procedures and protocols, including lockout/tagout and other safety measures when working on equipment.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Assist in ensuring the MSDS manual is always current.
Maintenance Duties
Support production team and maintenance technicians by performing all maintenance related tasks. Maintain production machinery to prevent unplanned downtime.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on equipment and systems, minimizing production delays.
Installation and Setup: Assist in the installation, assembly, and setup of new machinery and equipment. Ensure alignment with facility standards and production requirements.
Inspection and Documentation: Perform regular inspections on machinery to identify wear, damage, and necessary repairs. Document all maintenance activities, including parts used and corrective actions taken, within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Complete assigned tasks to ensure safe, operative equipment at all facilities. Report results to coordinator and document results in maintenance logs, Weekly Action Plan Spreadsheets, meeting minutes or other reports.
Complete requested repairs, maintain PM schedule, and complete Lock Out/Tag Out as required for production related equipment.
Electrical Duties
Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical components of packaging and production equipment, including troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
Electrical Installation: Install and configure new electrical systems and machinery as required, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and compliance with industry regulations. System Upgrades and Modifications: Assist in electrical upgrades, modifications, and improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity within the plant.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory usage.
Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to coordinate repairs and minimize production interruptions. Provide input for continuous improvement of equipment reliability.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control centers, and electrical circuits, applying knowledge of manufacturing systems to resolve complex electrical problems.

Education and/or Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program required. Licensure/Certification: Licensed electrician (Journeyman or Master) preferred. Experience: 3+ years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing environment, ideally with packaging equipment. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical codes, PLCs, control systems, and the operation of packaging machinery. Familiarity with electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and develop effective solutions under pressure.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Windows software
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift Mechanic Certification desirable
Other Qualifications Valid Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation. Must be able to travel 15% of the time.
