Summary
The the Facilities and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining safe and secure buildings, equipment and grounds to ensure successful service delivery to all Agency Departments. This position will provide leadership and supervision for a team of maintenance technicians and grounds personnel. Additionally ensure safe facilities and operative equipment incompliance with all State and Federal regulations governing food safety and general safety compliance. The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will work together with all operations staff to provide exceptional customer service to agency staff, customers, and vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Departmental Leadership:
Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the maintenance team, including technicians, supervisors, and support staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and communicate departmental goals, objectives, and performance metrics, aligning them with organizational priorities and business objectives.
Develop KPI’s for Facility, Maintenance and Grounds team to advance Continuous Improvement within the Operations team.
Lead departmental meetings with Direct report teams (facilities, grounds, and maintenance departments) to discuss department goals, progress, issues/concerns, etc. Provide a monthly schedule to the maintenance team and share with production to ensure adequate coverage.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and extend asset life.
Coordinate with production, scheduling, and other departments to develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule, ensuring that maintenance activities are scheduled and executed efficiently to support production operations. Ensure timely completion of training and performance reviews for assigned staff and daily monitoring of performance.
Direct oversite of completion and documentation of scheduled maintenance repairs for all facilities, grounds and equipment..
Ensure completion of tasks assigned to staff to ensure safe, operative equipment at all 7 facilities.Ensures a safe work environment while overseeing staff and employee training and education. Ensure compliance to all local and state rules and regulations.
Coordinate with senior leadership team on the implementation of new facility building projects.
Directly oversees maintenance and operation of the agency surveillance system.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that services are delivered according to agreed-upon terms and standards.
Evaluate vendor performance and conduct periodic reviews to ensure that vendors meet quality, cost, and performance expectations.
Collaborate with outside vendors to ensure timely flow of projects and scheduled PM.
Directly oversee maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical in all facilities along with scheduled PM documentation. Ensures timely completion of snow/ice removal services at all facilities.
Oversee requested repairs, maintenance of PM schedule, and ensure that Lock Out/Tag Out procedures are performed by staff for material handling fleet and production-related equipment.
Ensure completion of new design and construction tasks for specific equipment/line adaptations, other special projects to advance vocational opportunities for consumers.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree, and / or 10 or more years of experience in Facilities Management position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee and supervisor facilities, maintenance and grounds teams.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred 10 years of experience in maintenance management or a related leadership role in a manufacturing or industrial environment acceptable in leu to education.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems, with demonstrated proficiency in maintenance best practices and methodologies.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their goals.
Proven ability to develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices related to maintenance operations.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret complex electrical, mechanical systems, automation systems, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to effectively handle project management for multiple ongoing projects.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Proficiency in Outlook for the use of email. Experience with a CMMS is also required.
Other QualificationsValid Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.Must be able to travel 15% of the time.
